Groundbreaking ceremony at Lilywood Landings celebrates construction kick-off
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Public Works, Hon Meaghan Scanlon MP, and City of Moreton Bay Mayor, Cr Peter Flannery, last week turned the first sod of the master planned residential community, alongside Lennium Group dignitaries and BMD’s CEO, Scott Power.
Lilywood Landings, located in the Moreton Bay region between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, marks the first community to be developed at Waraba, a critical growth area in Caboolture West set to accelerate land supply with an expected 30,000 new homes.
Lennium Group Development Manager Ian Worthington said BMD had wasted no time getting started on civil works at Lilywood Landings.
“After many years of careful planning and preparation, we are delighted to see our contractor now mobilised on site and starting the job of bringing our vision for this community to life,” he said.
“This includes the construction of the vital infrastructure needed not only for Lilywood Landings but for the whole of the Waraba.”
BMD’s CEO, Scott Power said the project cements BMD’s core capability in urban land development.
“As Australia’s leading integrated engineering construction and urban development business, we’ve been changing the shape of Australia through the delivery of communities for 45 years.
“BMD brings our expertise to fulfil the first five stages of the Lilywood estate, and critical infrastructure to support future expansion across Caboolture West,” he said.
“With a collaborative approach to contracting, BMD is eager to help Lennium achieve its core objectives of progressing the Waraba community within the fast-growing Moreton Bay region.”
BMD’s difference is in our relationship-focused approach and our key strategy in the construction of Lilywood is to facilitate parallel operations and tactical management of our work crews across the multiple stages.
