BMD marks decade of delivering transformative projects in the West

From small bridge projects to now delivering major transformative infrastructure, the past 10 years has seen BMD continue to go from strength-to-strength, powering futures and creating legacies.

BMD began its journey in the west on the Busselton Airport apron extension before quickly moving onto minor bridge works. It didn’t take long until BMD got involved in the delivery of major projects including freeway upgrades like the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeways, and Perth’s first Smart Freeway; critical transport replacements in the New Fitzroy River Bridge, and the soon to be completed METRONET Victoria-Canning Crossing Removal Project as part of the Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance.

As part of the Tonkin Extension Alliance, BMD is also set to begin work on the major $1 billion Tonkin Highway Extension project and growing its diversification strategy into WA’s resources sector.

Over the past 10 years, BMD has won 55 projects, including 21 regional and remote; 18 bridges; five airport upgrades; and two water and wastewater projects.

BMD Chief Executive Officer Scott Power said the 10th anniversary year provided the chance to reflect on all that had been achieved, while looking ahead to new opportunities.

“Reaching this milestone is a testament to the dedication and resilience of our teams and the genuine relationships we build with clients, partners, and communities across Western Australia,” Mr Power said.

“We have cemented ourselves as a trusted and reliable partner through our history of delivering and our culture of combining technical capability with our approach to leaving enduring legacies within the communities in which we operate.

“The foundation of our success has been built on trust, collaboration, and mutually beneficial relationships. These values have driven our growth, and they will continue to propel us forward.”

BMD General Manager - Western Australia Leon Fogliani said BMD’s journey in WA has been marked by innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.

“From our early projects to our current large-scale alliance partnerships, we have consistently aimed to deliver infrastructure that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the communities and clients we serve,” Mr Fogliani said.

“Community and impact continue to be a major priority, with BMD actively engaging local communities, ensuring projects not only meet infrastructure needs but enhance the quality of life for residents, boosting training opportunities and supporting local businesses.

“As we continue to expand our operations in the West, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us build a better future together.”

Aligning with BMD’s commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work, BMD proudly partnered with the Perth Scorchers, aligning in family values, community reach and a high-performance focus.

From our early projects to our current large-scale alliance partnerships, we have consistently aimed to deliver infrastructure that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the communities and clients we serve.
