BMD Constructions as part of Spirit Partners has been awarded the contract to deliver the Spirit of Tasmania - Devonport Terminal 3 project for TT Line (Spirit of Tasmania Pty Ltd).

As a collaborative partnership between BMD Constructions (principal contractor), and our subcontractor partners, Fitzgerald Constructions Australia, BridgePro Engineering, Gradco and VOS Constructions, the project will revolutionise the current infrastructure located in Devonport, Tasmania.

Once complete, the upgraded berth will accommodate two new Spirit of Tasmania vessels arriving from Finland and feature a state-of-the-art terminal facilitating improved vessel operational efficiency, quicker turnaround times and an unmatched customer experience.

As principal contractor, BMD Constructions will oversee and execute the project’s civil, marine and building works with BMD Constructions General Manager VIC/SA/TAS Ivan Fratric emphasising a collaborative approach to project delivery.

“Relationship contracting is at the heart of the way in which we operate. BMD Constructions has a proven track record of delivering exceptional project outcomes through this approach,” Ivan said.

“As a proud family-owned business and through our collaborative approach to contracting, BMD will work with our client, delivery partners and local Tasmanian businesses to leave an enduring legacy through the infrastructure we deliver, employment opportunities we create and the local business relationships we form."

“BMD has a history of delivering infrastructure within Tasmania and the award of the Spirit of Tasmania - Devonport Terminal 3 project provides an opportunity for us to further build our capacity in the state,” he said.

The award of the Spirit of Tasmania - Devonport Terminal 3 project follows BMD Constructions’ successful completion of the Corio Quay project for GeelongPort which saw the delivery of the Spirit of Tasmania’s Victorian berth.
