Case studies
Newell Highway Program Alliance
Through an innovative alliance contracting model, the Newell Highway Program Alliance was able to deliver 38 overtaking lanes and six safety improvement projects in five years, rather than the likely eight years it would have taken to fund this work using traditional procurement methods. The Newell Highway Program Alliance also maximised the flexibility of additional funding opportunities through the delivery program.
New Fitzroy River Bridge
The Fitzroy Bridge Alliance, comprising BMD, Georgiou, and BG&E, has a proven track record of success. Having recently completed two successful bridge projects for Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA), they were specifically chosen for the high-priority New Fitzroy Bridge Project due to their proven collaborative approach and already strong relationship with MRWA.
In addition to engineering excellence; and support from the Traditional Owners and Fitzroy community; MRWA's unwavering confidence in the Alliance was one of the key reasons why the project was completed six months ahead of schedule, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and shared commitment to the outcome.
Victoria International Container Terminal
A commitment to collaboration and an open-book approach to transparency around costs and risks led to a highly successful project delivered alongside client Victoria International Container Terminal Limited, and designer, AECOM. Approvals, design elements and construction timeframes were fast tracked and our responsiveness to change assisted in the delivery of the project five months ahead of schedule, on budget, and with 1.8 million hours lost time injury free.
New Parallel Runway Project - Airfield Works Contract
After 14 consecutive years of delivering projects for Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), including being a key contractor in the first phase of the redevelopment project, BMD Constructions and CPB Contractors (as SkyWay Joint Venture) were awarded the New Parallel Runway Project - Airfield Works Contract. Together, CPB Contractors and BMD Constructions built trusted relationships – with each other, and with the BAC team and its stakeholders – to provide BAC certainty of operational readiness by mid-2020.
