Riverlea Subdivision and Intersection
About the project
BMD Urban was engaged by Walker Corporation to construct the first 400 lots included in Stages 1A, 1B, 4, 6A, 6B, 7A and 7B (Stage 4, Stage 11 and Stage 40 are also now underway) of Riverlea Estate and the upgrade of an existing unsignalised T-junction to a four-way signalised intersection, including a connection to the new Riverlea Boulevard, a primary access to the Riverlea Park development.
Scope
Subdivision
Supply, installation and commission of electrical Underground Residential Distribution and lighting, intelligent transport system (ITS) and signals to Department for Infrastructure and Transport standard, including trunk high voltage line and connection to existing SA Power Networks substation
Construction of footpaths, shared paths and driveway crossovers
Open drainage channel works including riprap and rock mattresses
Removal and disposal of existing vegetation
Demolition of existing roads, pavements and fencing
Bulk earthworks including Level 1 certification
Granular and deep lift asphalt pavements
Vacuum sewer reticulation, including pump station and temporary tankering site to SAWater standards
Stormwater drainage works
Watermain reticulation works
NBN pit and pipe works
Intersection
Upgrade to a signalised four-way intersection and included an entry road (Riverlea Boulevard) into Riverlea Park
Site establishment, service search and identification
Implementation of sediment and erosion controls and traffic control
Bulk earthworks
Services and street lighting installation
Pavement, kerbing and line marking
Testing and commissioning of signals
Outcomes
A collaborative partnership has been established with Walker Corporation to ensure the progressive handover of stages to the client as completed to enable land sales of the in-demand estate to continue throughout. As a result of BMD’s capability and long history in the land development sector, current stages are set to be delivered on time. Testament to high levels of health and safety, BMD has so far delivered the project over 220,000 hours lost time injury free.
