About the project

As part of the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct, this project involves the realignment and construction of Moorebank Avenue to better connect the east and west sides of the precinct. These upgrades will improve safety and enhance travel for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Project scope

Realign a two kilometre section of Moorebank Avenue, from 130 metres south of Anzac Road/Moorebank Avenue intersection to north of the East Hills Railway

Construct three kilometres of additional two-lane road to connect with the existing northern and southern sections of Moorebank Avenue

Construct four new traffic light intersections

Construct flexible pavements including lean mix concrete, and 20 millimetre dense grade asphalt and wearing course

Install road furniture including concrete F-type barriers, guard rail, anti-throw screens

Relocate network operator and stakeholder assets including power, communication, and water lines

Remove, remediate and rehabilitate nearby disused rail spur

Construct reinforced box culverts, L-shape retaining walls, deflection walls, and reinforced soil earth walls

Upgrade drainage including reinforced concrete pits, pipes, gutters, and open channels

Install two bio-detention basins with drainage, filtration media and landscaping
