Outcomes
BMD successfully self-performed the majority of works and were awarded further scope based on excellent performance. This model of self-performing works minimised and mitigated risk by employing the majority of the workforce under BMD’s General Collective Agreement.Through self-performance, BMD was able to provide the client with efficient scheduling, flexibility for alternative solutions, and the ability to efficiently manage all aspects of the works. At the project’s peak, BMD had directly engaged 90 staff on the project and through self-performing such a diverse offering our client was given great flexibility to vary and increase scope as and when required. Through the successful self-performance of works, BMD achieved a defect free project at practical completion.Notably, the Caval Ridge General Services project achieved over 140,000 hours lost time injury and medically treated injury free.Overall, BMD developed an excellent working relationship with the client meeting all environmental, safety and operational protocols.
