About the project
The new Manila International Airport (MIA) is being constructed to meet the growing demands of Metro Manila and adjacent provinces.
MIA will complement the air traffic operations of the existing and congested Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Prime BMD was contracted to build the marine facilities at MIA to allow for the airport's extension.

Outcomes
Prime BMD is elevating standards in the Philippines' construction industry with its focus on achieving excellence across social, safety and quality to adhere to European Standards (IFC Performance Standards).
For the MIA Marine Facilities project, Prime BMD had a strong focus on positive social outcomes for local communities. Situated in Bulacan, north of Metro Manila, local hiring initiatives resulted in 60% of the labour force being locals.
The project reached 10 million hours of work without any lost-time incidents.
