- The transformation cements BMD as a branded house, with the new brand architecture bringing unity to its businesses, demonstrating a highly connected portfolio of both individual and integrated brands focused on enhanced experiences for clients, partners and supply chain.
BMD, one of Australia’s leading family-owned businesses, today announced its new brand identity aligning with its growth strategy focused on collaborative partnerships, diversification and international expansion. The updated identity uncovers a future-focused strategic direction, dedicated to shared success with clients, partners and the community.
With a commitment to growth and opportunity, BMD is diversified across sectors and taken its expertise internationally, where the power of teamwork and the strength of partnerships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors has been a point of difference.
In the 45th year of operations, the new brand identity is the first refresh for the business in 22 years, marking the fourth logo. The identity and new brand architecture reinforces strength in collaboration, optimising both individual and integrated brands to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients and communities.
The refreshed brand identity aligns with a new purpose: “Powering futures and creating enduring legacies through commitment to collaboration.”
The new brandmark is an evolution of the existing logo, now a symbolic and bold design that captures the strong foundations and values on which BMD is built. The negative space created between the two shapes of the icon forms a direction line, leading from a rich history towards future legacies and strategic growth.
“Our new brand marks more than a fresh new look - it embodies our future-focused ambitions, aligning with our strategy for collaborative delivery, growth and international expansion.”
Scott Power, Chief Executive Officer, BMD
Scott Power, Chief Executive Officer of BMD said: “BMD is a people first business with a truly unique culture and entrepreneurial spirit. Our partnering approach has long been something we were built upon and pride ourselves on. This is an evolution of our brand, with our people and our partners at the very centre.
“It has been a highly consultive process to land where we have, where we deeply engaged with our teams to find that our people enjoy being part of a business with family-values, bringing growth and opportunity through a high-performance team mantra. BMD’s point of difference lies in our people, our collaborative relationship-based approach and our certain and consistent delivery which is what led to the brand promise of “Powering futures, creating legacies”.
“We’re responsible for delivering some of the biggest and most diverse projects in Australia and the Philippines, and we’ve been growing into complex sectors, and expanding to new markets such as the UK. In reintroducing our brand to market, we are able to come back to our purpose, values and culture in all that we do - keeping us aligned, goal-orientated and future-focused.
“This is only the beginning for BMD. We are a purpose and values driven business set to outperform in all that we do. Afterall, that’s the power of BMD,” Mr Power said.
Today’s announcement marks the start of a broader year-long roll-out project, where BMD and its Group of companies will progressively update its six businesses, more than 150 worksites and its 1,500 vehicles and equipment in its fleet to reflect the new identity.
