BMD backs Reconciliation Week ‘Now More Than Ever’

NRW, held annually from 27 May to 3 June, is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

At BMD, we’re proudly moving towards our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which outlines our dedication to actively contributing to reconciliation in Australia through high-impact commitments.

Drawing on our core values as a business, BMD has always been committed to the meaningful employment, engagement and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we remain committed to creating genuine opportunities and outcomes.

With the upcoming implementation of the new Stretch-level RAP, our aspiration is to lead in reconciliation initiatives and set a new standard within the construction industry, encouraging other organisations to join us in this important journey.

The RAP spans a three-year period and is measured with specific, measurable targets and goals.

To celebrate the increased commitment in our RAP journey, BMD commissioned proud Bunuba and Gija woman Eulalia Martin from the Kimberley region in Western Australia to create artwork to represent our journey. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Eulalia worked at BMD for 10 years and remains a valued part of the BMD family.
