Corporate partnerships

About

Our corporate partnerships strive to achieve outcomes across key areas including diversity, inclusion and reconciliation. With an average partnership duration of 11 years or more, we invest over $1.5 million with our partners annually.

Some of our major partnerships are outlined below.

Brisbane Lions

Brisbane Lions

Brisbane’s AFL team, the Brisbane Lions, were born from a merger between the Fitzroy Lions and Brisbane Bears. In the early 2000s, the team celebrated three successive premierships from four consecutive grand finals, cementing themselves as a team to be reckoned with.

BMD has been a long-time supporter of the Brisbane Lions, providing financial support to the club for many years. In addition to providing sponsorship, BMD has close ties to the club, with BMD’s founder and Group Board Chairman, Mick Power AM, a Director on the club’s Board.

BMD is a proud major partner of the Brisbane Lions AFLW team, aligning our mutual vision of advancing the profile of women in our respective industries, both of which are underrepresented.

Melbourne Vixens

Melbourne Vixens

The Melbourne Vixens is Netball Victoria’s representative team competing in Australia’s national netball competition, Suncorp Super Netball.

Our partnership with the Melbourne Vixens is a fantastic alignment of our shared vision to improve participation and pathways for women in the construction and sporting industries, and an exciting opportunity to extend our partnerships in the southern region with BMD operating in Victoria since 1998. The partnership aims to provide opportunities to reach young women through a sport where athletes are champions of leadership, empowerment, and resilience.

North Queensland Cowboys

North Queensland Cowboys

With our origins in Queensland and more than 30 years’ of delivering projects in Townsville, we have been a proud Major Sponsor of the North Queensland Cowboys since 2014.

The sponsorship is supported in our North Queensland office and around Australia, with our brand featured on coaches’ apparel and the coaches’ box.

We are proud of our strong ties to the North Queensland community through both this partnership and our continued delivery of city-changing infrastructure.

Perth Scorchers

Perth Scorchers

BMD has joined forces with the Perth Scorchers and WA Cricket for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and Men’s Big Bash League (BBL). Marking our first major sponsorship in the west, the partnership shares our family values, commitment to the community and high-performance mantra.

We are excited to partner with the Perth Scorchers and WA Cricket who share our family values and community reach. The partnership will see BMD invest in the local community and grassroots sport as the naming rights sponsor of the BMD Junior Cricket League.

Queensland Rugby League

Queensland Rugby League

Aligning our shared vision and objective to raise the profile of women in underrepresented industries, we are proud to be powering the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons women’s team.

BMD has also been the naming rights partner of the BMD Premiership since 2022 - the senior women's state-wide competition, referred to as the BMD Premiership. In 2024, the competition grew from eight teams to 10, further championing inclusion and providing increased opportunities for women in sport.

Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers

BMD is a proud partner of the Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club. The partnership has a primary focus on the Women’s A-League team and provides the perfect match to continue our commitment to drive female representation in not only the construction sector but in other underrepresented industries such as sport.

We’re proud to have been working in the Western Sydney community for more than 20 years, developing strong local ties. Our partnership allows us to engage with local grassroots clubs to understand how we can promote construction employment opportunities to women and recruit more females into our business.

Melbourne Storm

Melbourne Storm

Our sponsorship of the Melbourne Storm is helping to power a new program, Women of Storm which aims to develop female ruby league talent in Victoria ahead of launching an NRLW team in the future.

As part of the program, up and coming Victorian female rugby league players are provided with opportunities to build connections, enhance their strength and confidence, and develop their game skills.

Our commitment to supporting high-performance athletes reflects the way we build our own high-performance teams, and we are proud to align with the Melbourne Storm’s approach to growing their talent.

BMD Northcliffe Surf Lifesaving Club

BMD Northcliffe Surf Lifesaving Club

BMD is the official naming rights sponsor of BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. This is the first partnership of its kind in Australia between a surf club and a corporate sponsor, which has further strengthened our well established and long-term partnership.

In recent times, BMD Northcliffe has been the most dominant Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia, boasting an expanding membership base, world and national championships, an enthusiastic Nipper program, significant involvement in community activities and a contribution to the preservation of human life on the Gold Coast’s beaches.

Our founder and Group Board Chairman, Mick Power AM, is a Vice Patron and life member of the Club as well as a Vice Patron of the Surf Life Saving Foundation.

Clontarf Foundation

Clontarf Foundation

Having proudly partnered with the Clontarf Foundation since 2015, BMD has supported more than 20 Foundation graduates and school leavers to obtain employment opportunities within our business.

The Clontarf Foundation works to improve education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men. Delivered in partnership with schools, the Foundation’s programs provide an important school-engagement mechanism and our partnership not only engages with Foundation alumni but also provides current students with opportunities to practice their engagement skills, build confidence and increase their understanding of available employment opportunities.
